Peaceful hideaway connected to nature. Deer view is a brand new one bedroom cottage located in a countryside setting surrounded by fields and visited by a local deer family. The cottage itself has been designed with your comfort in mind, perfect for a romantic getaway for those who love to go walking / hiking or have access to North Devon's best beaches. Deer View is a newly built detached cottage. You have your own private entrance and garden with patio, Swedish Hot Tub and small lawn. Inside you enter into an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room. The fitted kitchen has a fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob and microwave and coffee machine. There is an island with breakfast bar seating. The lounge has a beautiful Joules sofa bed, and armchair, smart TV and unlimited Star Link WiFi for streaming or work meetings. There is a double bedroom with a king size Loaf bed. A beautiful waney edged yew tree shelf - sourced from a local saw mill, with hanging space. Mirror and a small dressing table. The shower room is accessed from the main living area. It has a large shower area, WC, basin and cabinet with shavers socket. It has been interior designed to reflect the natural environment and use of beautiful natural materials such as our split face stone feature wall. There is a storage cupboard with essentials like iron & board and hoover.

We absolutely loved our stay here, the home was beautifully decorated and super clean! Our favourite aspects were the super comfy bed, gorgeous hot tub in the private garden and the air fryer was a very nice touch! If you’re not familiar with North Devon it is definitely advisable to come in your own car as public transport can be slow if you’re used to a busy city, however the town centre is only a short walk away from the home. Emma was an amazing host with great communication. Overall 10/10 stay! We will definitely be back 😍

Beautiful little cottage, we didn’t want to leave! So immaculately presented and the little finishings were lovely. Probably the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in and even the sofa bed was very comfortable. Emma was so welcoming by leaving us a card, Prosecco and some treats tor my son which was very lovely. She recommended local activities and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be recommending to others and hope to return soon. Really appreciated that the hot tub was available at no additional cost. Thank you Emma for a wonderful stay.

Deer View is located between Barnstaple and a small village - Bishops Tawton. The property is located down a private tree lined lane and benefits from peace and quiet with stunning views over Barnstaple. Within walking distance is The Chichester Pub which is a lovely pub for food in the heart of the village.
About 20 mins drive away is Croyde Beach which is an outstanding beach for surfing and bodyboarding, we particularly love Down End. You can grab a fantastic Sri-Lankan curry here with a cocktail from Bodhi’s beach bar and watch the sun go down.
Further along the coast is Woolacombe which is one of the most spectacular beaches in the area and you can pick up a top notch pizza on the beach in the summer months.
The Tarka Trail is a 180 mile walking and cycling trail which links the coast and moor it is traffic free and is practically on our doorstep.
We have a lovely walk from Deer View into the centre of Barnstaple walking along the river where you can visit the newly refurbished Pannier Market and Barnstaple Museum & Gallery. This walk takes about 30 mins one way.
We advise you bring a car. We are walking distance to all amenities that may be needed but you will benefit from the flexibility a car offers. We have free parking on site for up to two cars.
