In the late fall to early spring Jewel Branch has a beautiful stream of water. In the summer times it goes to a trickle. When I grew up it had a good flow year round. A lot depends now on how much rainfall and snow we have in the winter months. Morris Road is a quiet dead end road that adjoins the national forest. If you like a nice hike walk from the cabin to end of pavement and go right gravel road take you to the radio tower at top of mountain. Beautiful views of the valley below. In certain months the gate is open and you can drive to the top 4 wheel drive only and it is a narrow road in places but is well maintained by forest service. This is a place that is easily accessed right off a paved county road morris road. Yet is very tranquil. You can still hear the whipper wheels in the summer months and catch lightning bugs. Very peaceful and quiet. Good neighborhood. My parents live approx 1/2 mile away lived there for over 50 years.

Plenty of parking large circular gravel driveway. Depending on your level of fitness. Drive to town less than 3 miles. Or a nice walk or bike ride. Erwin has a nice new bike and hiking trail. And a linear trail that has won awards for its layout. Plenty of outdoor activities to do.
