之前以为无电无水无暖气，结果新安装了太阳能供电，可供照明和电器充电，抽取地下水可以提供沐浴和过滤饮水，特别是柴火炉，暖和而复古。房屋干净，炊具齐全，总之条件大大超出预期，特别是房东非常好，热情带我们去小木屋讲解情况，因为我们的电话卡在当地不能使用，房东还专门跑来帮我们发短信。以后有机会还会再来！

De weg naar deze Cabin alleen al was de moeite waard. Als je rustig rijdt en goed blijft kijken, is het echt goed rijden hoor! De ontvangst door Megan was hartelijk en gezellig. Ze liet ons de Cabin en Outhouse zien en hoe alles werkte. Ook gaf ze ons wat praktische tips, zoals de mooie wandelroute Glacier Roots Trail en The Mill tour. En natuurlijk eten bij Potato. Geen wildlife gezien tijdens ons verblijf maar wel het Noorderlicht… recht boven de Cabin. Wat een ervaring. Na 3 nachten hebben we de Cabin verlaten en zijn voorgoed verliefd geworden op de plek.

Incredible!! We felt ourselves like at home. Cosy, comfortable beds and so many blankets to feel warm. Full stuffed kitchen, view and quiet. We loved our stay!! Denise is absolutely amazing, friendly, ready to help! Thanks soo much for our good days in McCarthy.

I came to McCarthy, Alaska for the first time in 1993 and was completely mesmerized. Unlike the footbridge we have today, back then, a hand-pulled tram was how we crossed the Kennicott River. I accepted a job at the McCarthy Lodge and at the end of the summer, bought Swift Creek by making a small down payment with the tips I had saved. Over the years, my time has been shared between McCarthy in the summers and Homer in the winters. During that time, I co-founded McCarthy's Roadside Potatohead (aka The Potato) and Swift Creek Cabins were built. Although the Potato was first sold in 2004, it's still in the "family" and going strong! McCarthy Cabins is host to three cabins on three separate properties; Swift Creek, Bluff Cabin, and Meadow Cabin. The McCarthy Cabins summer team includes myself and my two furry family members; Mouse the Pug, and Penny Peanut a little terrier mix. We hope you will join us this summer – we look forward to meeting you!
