Today the Villa has: Two large ocean side windows slide open up for fresh air, open feel and a magnificent view. Long balcony with a catamaran hammock at the end hanging 7 meters above the ground. Pillow-top King Size Mattress; sleep comfortably Housekeeping & Laundry Included, available everyday, guest may request up to every other day during their stay. Housekeeping can take away garbage, organic waste or clean up as needed. *Guests also have option to use our washing machine and soap at no extra cost if they prefer to wash their own laundry. If arriving by land we encourage guests to stop along the way for groceries wanted for cooking. “BM Supermarket” in Palmar Norte will have the largest selection. As well, there is a supermarket three miles away that delivers for a small fee. Otherwise, Katherine owns the restaurant on site (room service available) and we frequently order fresh produce and can include grocery orders for guests as well. There are two neighboring restaurants within walking distance.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at shane's. it's a unique experience...remote, peaceful and beautiful. Shane went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and was a brilliant host. The bed is really comfortable with cooling bamboo sheets. The A/C worked brilliantly and ensured we had comfortable nights. The view is breathtaking and we saw alot of birds and monkeys around the property. Shane organised 3 trips for us prior to arrival, all of which we really enjoyed..being picked up by boat from the beach is a great experience. We would recommend staying here without hesitation.
Super cabane isolée avec une vue incroyable. Shane était très accueillant et nous a fourni le nécessaire (fruits, œufs, pain…) pour bien commencer notre séjour. En revanche il n’y a pas de chambre séparée comme nous le pensions. Globalement un super moment passé chez Shane!
This house is modern and cute, like a treehouse jungle cabin. It sits on hill with incredible views of the ocean, jungle, & Isla del Caño from nearly every part of the unit. You will have a front row, cinematic frame for beautiful sunsets. The house has everything you need for your stay. A/C is a nice bonus. You can walk to beautiful, uncrowded beaches. The family runs a restaurant and bar on the property. Tours are available from the area, including diving or snorkeling Caño Island (do the catamaran boat if you can, it's larger and they serve a tasty lunch), and hiking Corcovado Park. Much transport is done by boat, which is a fun adventure itself. Plenty of wildllife around. Many birds including parrots and toucans, coati (pizote), lizards and white-faced monkeys. Shane and Katy are excellent hosts, truly nice people. They care. Shane puts a lot of effort into helping you get here and booking tours. Their place is a unique, fun jungle experience and they make it even better.

Approximately 45 minutes by boat. Captain looks out for whales/dolphins to stop and view along the way.
Frequently seen puffer fish, sea turtles, manta rays, eels, fish schools, lemon sharks and much more!
CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK: 1 of Costa Rica’s 8 National Biological Reserves.

• Sirena (45-60 minutes boat ride each way)
Expect about 4 hours or so of hiking. Terrain is quite flat. Frequently seen but not limited to tapirs, all four species of monkeys, coatis, ant eaters, kinkajous, sloths, mountain pigs (peccaries) armadillos and the more fortunate sightings; jaguar, puma and black panther.
SAN JOSECITO BEACH - White sandy beach with little Islands shielding the waves keeping the waters nice and calm. Great for swimming and snorkeling; very dynamic sea life. Frequently seen puffer fish, sea turtles and much more. Guests can experience independently or we offer a paid tour.
Drake Bay is about 6 miles away. There is a nearby supermarket (3 miles away). We are in the jungle so this is predominantly mountainous rainforest.
There are nearby waterfalls, rivers, caves, hiking paths, ocean reef and more. Some land is used for farming with cows and goats roaming around.
Hike the coast (north or south) along beautiful rainforest trails, passing creeks and waterfalls along the way. Animal encounters are virtually limitless.
Almond trees scattered along the shoreline attract red scarlet macaws. Banana, Mango & Coconut trees attract the White Faced Capuchins, Spider Monkeys and more.
