Doug was a very responsive host. He clearly explained check in and our cabin was ready early although we did not arrive until after the scheduled check-in time. The campground was clean and had some great activities for families. My kids loved having the after hours access to the desert of Maine area we were disappointed to find hair on the sink and toilet in the bathroom as well as trash, and a dog poop bag out by the fire pit. At this price point it was disappointing. We understand there can be oversights, however, and would return to this campground for another try.

The Desert of Maine Campground is a hidden gem. We adored the cabin, waking up to the woodland view, and thoughtful amenities. The location served as a base as we explored Maine and it felt like coming home each night. This tranquil retreat within the Desert of Maine is perfect for nature enthusiasts and families seeking an extraordinary escape.
