There is more space there than we expected. Furnishings and decor are a bit outdated, but everything was bright and clean. The kitchen is well supplied, though there's pretty much only four of everything (good thing we were a family of four!). Lots of washing up (by hand) is required... There is a well-maintained garden around three sides of the house. The location is very good: it's a three-minute walk to the end of the road, where you find yourself on the Cleveland Way at the top of the cliff. There's a very steep path that goes straight down to the remains of Port Mulgrave. Or, you can go left and take a lovely walk to Staithes, or right to Runswick Bay, enjoying the wonderful views from the top of the cliffs, and inland to the North York Moors. Hinderwell (which is the main village) has a couple of nice pubs, a shop, hairdresser, and petrol station. Two miles down the road is the Co-op at Staithes, and of course lovely Staithes itself. Nearby Runswick Bay has a wonderful beach, though beware the very steep road down.
