I got the sleeper up to Rannoch with my dog and stayed at the Star Hut. We had an absolutely amazing time staying here and Bill (and everyone in the tearoom) was so welcoming and friendly! Couldn’t rate this place highly enough. Definitely want to come back!

My second visit to the Star Hut! Bill is wonderful host - friendly, responsive to messages, and very helpful. The hut is a beautiful peaceful place. I was lucky to have the deer close by quite often, saw beautiful sunrises, and the stars came out. Lots of walks in the area, or hop on a train across the moor. The Tearoom also has delicious freshly baked cakes, and the folks in there are so friendly too! Will definitely be back again.

Before our visit, Bill was very responsive and gave very clear instructions. on arrival we seen lots of deer (a perfect welcome) and found the hut very easily with Bill's instructions. the hut looks out onto a beautiful rolling hill view just like the pictures. during our stay, one glass unit on the door had lost the gas so the view was distorted, it didn't bother us at all, regardless bill took care of us very kindly and offered us breakfast in his beautiful tearoom. while having breakfast we got lots of brilliant recommendations from them for walks around the area and we love exploring with our dog. we can't wait to go back again when we have more time. Thank you so much Bill! what a beautiful place you have

A wonderful stay at The Star Hut. Bill was an excellent host and gave us plenty of information before we arrived. The Hut was comfortable, cosy and private with great views. Would highly recommend a visit to the Tearoom on the platform too. Looking forward to our next visit!

I had eyed the Star Hut as a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights during a short holiday in Scotland. It didn't disappoint. Lovely quiet location, cosy warm hut with very comfortable beds, and a super friendly group of staff in the Tea Room. All in all we couldn't have wished for a better couple of nights. It was great to hear the Snipe drumming and swooping over, and wake up to the sunrise to see the deer close by on the moor.
