The Wellington House never disappoints! We thoroughly enjoyed returning to the hidden gem and taking advantage of the beautiful lake, wrap around porch, and everything in between. Thank you Jennifer for your swift and easy communication. We felt well accommodated and taken care of. My family cannot wait to return next summer. Thanks.

If I could give more than five stars I would, as the home is everything you could ever want. From the welcoming interior, superbly decorated and outfitted, to the outdoor space, there literally isn't one item I could say that could have made the stay, and the home, better. We spent two nights by the fire pit, enjoying the amazing sunset across the lake. Cooperstown proper is only a 15 minute drive and it is one of those drives that you want to make - the scenery and homes along the way are beautiful. The home has everything to offer: comfortable beds, very nice and fine touches in each of the rooms, plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, and mostly, an instant feeling of being at home. Thank you for sharing such an amazing place with my family and me!

Everything about this lakehouse is spectacular. Immaculately clean, beautifully designed, comfortable layout- everything about it feels so welcoming and intentional. We appreciated vases of fresh flowers (from property gardens) and treats awaiting us in the fridge when we first arrived! It seems the owners and property manager, Sarah, must have spent quite some time trying to think of everything imaginable to make it the best possible vacation home. This is a true high end/luxury rental in which we were beyond pleasantly surprised with high quality mattresses & bed/bathroom linens, Sonos speakers in every bedroom (with in house sound on main floor that connects to your phone or even a vinyl record player!), everything you can think of in the kitchen (bakers or cooks, it’s all there and nice, eg henckels knives), stunning pieces of art throughout, quality furniture, fresh flowers throughout (from the property gardens!), etc. The lakefront yard with hammock and fire pit was the perfect size for our family to hang out and play lakefront yard games - we loved the cornhole set. We kept our 29.5’ boat on the dock which was as big as I’d recommend going for the dock but worked, and we had a blast taking it out for water sports and lakefront dining (we docked at the Otesga for the fire bar there and at the Blue Mingo for dinner). We brought our own SUP and used it in addition to the 2 house to paddle out and enjoy the views from the water. Golf course is nearly adjacent to the property so we did a round of golf there too (walked to the course from the house). The house is on a quiet country road that we enjoyed walking/running with lake & farm views. Sarah deserves special mention here for being an outstanding communicator both before, during, and after our stay with quick and thoughtful responses, and genuinely wanted to ensure we had everything we needed but most of all we’re having a good time. We accidentally left my 18 month old’s lovey at the house and Sarah offered to drop it off in Albany or mail it to us - not necessary but very appreciated and speaks to how she cares for the guests. We are most certainly returning and hopefully staying for longer next time!

The Wellington House is a true gem! The house sits right on Otsego Lake and provides a spectacular view of the water. We spent many of our days down by the dock either fishing, paddle-boarding, or soaking up the sun. We were also able to dock our rental boat which was a huge plus. In terms of the house itself, it had everything you could ever imagine. The kitchen was well equipped with brand new appliances and had a rocking oven/stove. Our favorite part was definitely the DIY beer opener. The layout of the rest of the house is beautiful. The huge dining room table made for great family dinners and the various study/living rooms made working from home easy. If you’re in the mood for some competitive activities, head downstairs to the den where you will be welcomed by a regulation ping pong table and a dart board. There’s even a corn hole set that you can put out back or in the front. As for the beds, there are plenty of them and they are all ultra soft. Lots of bedding and bath towels. Moreover, I highly recommend you take advantage of the gorgeous porch that wraps around the house. It is the go-to spot. Above all else, we appreciated how Sarah went out of her way to make sure we felt at home. The housewarming gifts of gourmet butter and a delicious cheesecake was a big hit among everyone. We also had the pleasure of meeting her wonderful husband and cute dog. She is truly wonderful. If you are looking for a serene place to enjoy the summer, look no further. This place will have you talking for years. We hope to return in the future. Much love.
