There is plenty to do in the area, including walks from the accommodation as well as further afield, historical sites to visit, and places to eat in the local towns and villages. Well behaved dogs welcome! There is access to the flower and vegetable gardens. Please be aware that whilst the annex is directly attached to our house, we do all we can to ensure your privacy.
Very pleasant stay apartment as described very clean and tidy with nice relaxing garden area, Mike and Sue very helpful for local orientation, and walks for dogs, Forest of Dean nearby and has beautiful walks and scenery which dogs also enjoyed. Very friendly local pub and shops about 5 mins walk away. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Rob & Kate
We loved staying at Mike and Suzie's cosy, clean and welcoming place. One of the best surprises, besides the cream tea on arrival, was the amazing setting, which doesn't fully come across in the photos. The house is tucked away behind an old church with fields and footpaths just outside, and the garden is also really stunning, a perfect little oasis. The apartment itself was really thoughtfully equipped, from baking paper to board games - Mike and Suzie truly have thought of everything! We wouldn't hesitate to return.
Lea is a quiet little farming village just 4 miles form the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye. It has a local shop, pub, Indian takeaway, and a garage. Ross has many shopping opportunities for essentials, gifts, and more, with plenty of cafes and takeaways to choose from. There are many lovely walks in the immediate area, and the Forest of Dean is only a short drive away where you can find longer walks and many beautiful attractions such as Puzzle Wood, two heritage steam railways and The Sculpture Trail. Mitcheldean lies 3.4 miles south and has shops, a garage and takeaways. There are also many garden centres in the area!
The 33 bus leaves regularly for Gloucester from the lay-by opposite the drive, or for Hereford from just down the road by the churchyard. Hereford and Gloucester are also roughly 30 minutes away by car. There are also local taxi services. There are many walking routes in the area, marked out by national footpath signs and visible on the OS maps. The Wye Valley Walk also passes nearby.
