Nous sommes restés 2 semaines ici, au milieu d’un vrai paradis. Nous ne comprenons pas la publication de commentaires 100% négatifs de personnes qui y sont restés que 3 jours. Ils ne peuvent pas se faire une opinion correcte. Vous logez « chez l’habitant » et Said transforme cet endroit tranquille avec les moyens modestes. Tous les autres établissements de cette plus belle partie de l’île sont des gros hôtels très chers. De la plage de sable blanc fin quasi déserte, située à 200m, vous avez accès à un site de snorkeling protégé exceptionnel. Après une partie profonde vous avez une large barrière de corail protégée avec une multitude de couleurs d’invertébrés et des poissons de toutes tailles. Nous y étions seuls alors qu’aux spots proposés en bateau à Zanzibar il y avait 10 bateaux et 50 personnes dans l’eau. Les bungalows, individuels et privatifs, offrent un équipement de base mais correcte et un bon petit déjeuner offert !! Merci Said

Wenn man diese Unterkunft wählt, sollte man sich wirklich sehr bewusst für eine Low Budget Variante entscheiden. In der Unterkunft roch es stark nach Schimmel und in der Dusche wurde man von Kakerlaken und Würmern begrüßt. Das Moskitonetz war löcherig. An drei Abenden gab es das gleiche Essen, das offensichtlich nur aufgewärmt wurde. Unseren Gastgeber Said haben wir nur einmal kurz gesehen und die Kommunikation mit seinem Angestellten war meistens ziemlich holprig. Im Vorfeld war die Kommunikation aber gut. Die Lage ist ein Traum und man kann eine sehr gute Zeit auf Pemba haben, man muss nur wissen, worauf man sich einlässt, keine hohen Ansprüche an Unterkunft und Gastgeber haben und sich selbst in einem nicht ansatzweise touristischen Umfeld zurecht finden können.

My bed was just a thin matress (also used for outdoor seating) . Placed on a concrete plinth. I had no mosquito net. It took numerous requests and a whole day to get a mosquito net and the sheets changed after 3 days. The double bed was fine, but the room was full of milepedes so really needed the floor cleaning daily. The shower drain was so blocked that you ended up with a small swimming pool at your feet. a bit more enthusiasm regarding cleaning would have been appreciated. There is no WiFi. No sale of cold drinks or any snacks. The food is mediocre and does not reflect the variety of fresh fruit vegetables and sea food that is available on the island. There is plenty that can be done to make this property magical as the surroundings are beautiful but at the moment they have the monopoly on midrange cheap accommodation and this is the only reason to stay here. Last thing to mention is that there is only 1 ceiling fan which is inadequate to keep the room cool.

I arrived with my daughter, a friend and her daughter so we were four women travelling together and felt very safe and looked after. Said speaks fluent English and is a very polite, helpful and hard working man with a beautiful garden, excellent Swahili cook and helpful, friendly staff. We loved staying in a place run by local people and interacting with local people, rather than being sealed off in a fancy foreign owned resort. This is where to stay if you want authentic experience.

The place is really nice and the staff is friendly, however we had a lot of miscommunication in the beginning. Said was never there even though he said he would meet us at Pemba moonlight, maybe it is better to inform guests that someone else will receive them upon arrival. Pemba is a very beautiful island and we will recommend people to go there. Pemba moonlight is 2hrs walk from the dive centers, but a very nice walk through small villages. There is a nice beach nearby (manta resort) or go to Vumavimbi beach (1,5hr)
