This house on Squam Lake exceeded our expectations and was a delight to stay at for the week. Having enjoyed Squam for many years, but not visiting for a while, staying in True Cove was really something special. We were extremely fortunate to have a hot June that warmed up the water enough to be comfortable for swimming. That combined with the pre-season quietude made the place magical. The loons were often offering up different daytime and night time seranades. We also had the opportunity to walk the adjacent Five Finger Point Loop and to Canoe its perimeter as well. The house is very well appointed for its guests with ample kitchenware, dining ware, and linens, great outdoor and boating accessories, and a warm and comfortable ambience with an appropriate woodland/lakeside atmosphere. It may be a bit limited for some with 1 1/2 baths that are somewhat remotely located, but. as a place in the woods, for us it worked perfectly.

My wife and daughter and I stayed at Pinesteyn for a week, and only wish it could have been longer. Enjoying the peace of the woods, walking down the path to the dock over the silent cushion of pine needles, swimming in the cove- it was just the break from life that we needed. The cabin is a one of a kind, well-loved place that clearly holds many happy memories, and we are glad to have ours added in! Mark was a quickly responsive host, and we appreciated the area info in the house book. We’ve been vacationing on Squam for years, but discovered some new haunts. The house is stocked with classic games for a rainy day, and the WiFi is reliable, although we tried not to use it! This is a great place to unplug surrounded by the quiet wonders of nature.
