波特兰 · 整套民居 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住3人 · The Magic Attic / Walk Score 93!
The Magic Attic is high in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district, 3 blocks to SE Hawthorne and Division. 15 minutes to the airport, 9 to downtown or the convention center, with rental bikes and 4 bus stops within 2 blocks, and ample free street parking. The Magic House was Todji's sculpture studio for 17 years and is full of art. This is an entire attic with private bath. The front door, stairway, 2nd floor hallway, and sculpture garden are shared space with other guests. Todji designed and built the Magic Attic himself, and had his sculpture office here for twelve years. There is great light, an awesome view, and lots of green among the tree tops. Most all of the sculptures were sculpted by Todji at the Magic House between 2000 and 2017. The entrance to the Magic Attic is through the Magic House below. You will share the front door entrance, stairs and 2nd floor hallway with the guests on the Magic 2nd Floor. You will have the entire Magic Attic, with full bathroom, and there is a coded door lock on your door. There are other Airbnb rooms directly below the Magic Attic so we ask you to shut the door quietly and walk softly at night so as to not disturb other guests below. Please be aware that this is an old house and voices carry. Quiet time is 10 PM 9 AM. Please exchange friendly hellos and also respect privacy. The attic includes coffee, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, hot water heater, mugs, and teas. Hobie lives in a different unit onsite and Todji lives nearby.
Todji’s place was exactly as described. It was a perfect location to visit a zillion bars, restaurants and coffee shops. We’ll return and we’d love to stay here again. It was perfectly priced for a place that we only needed to come back to for sleep after a full day and night. PS. The skylights are amazing!
Highly recommend. Great location easy, to get around and lots of light. Skylights and big windows were gorgeous. Just a beautiful space. Love the artwork/sculptures.
The Magic House is centrally located in one of the most beautiful, charming and safest neighborhoods in Portland. There is an abundance of restaurants, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, boutique browsing and hiking options beginning within one block.
See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an epic restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland!
We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano. We are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area (check to see if it has re-opened).
Division Street is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer.

Hiking:
The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, and breathtaking 600 foot Multnomah Falls.

There is ample free street parking on our block with no time restrictions.
Please park on SE Harrison Street ONLY.
NO PARKING ON SE STEPHENS ST. BECAUSE:
Our neighbors on SE Stephens have complained that our guests were taking up the scarce parking for the residents. There is always plenty of parking on SE Harrison which is equally close. Thanks for helping us to stay good with our neighbors!
There are orange Nike rental bikes at the corner of SE Hawthorne and SE 40th St. in front of New Seasons, 3 blocks away.
The airport and downtown are approximately 15 minutes by car. To get from the airport to our house via public transportation, it takes approximately 52 minutes, via a Max train from the airport, and a Trimet bus requiring one transfer. Use Trimet's website to easily plan bus and light rail trips.
There are also bus stops going in the four directions within three blocks of our front door. Downtown by bus is approximately 15 minutes.
