A stunning 5-bed period house with stunning grounds and with access to woodland and a lake. The house and grounds are totally private and offer the perfect rural retreat for the family or a group of friends. The house comes with four double bedrooms a single bedroom and three bathrooms. Downstairs there is a well-equipped kitchen complete with an AGA, granite worktops, and an integrated oven and hob. Flowing from the kitchen is a very comfortable sitting area to relax in. Beyond is a separate sitting room. Outside, there is a fabulous terrace with its own fountain and tables and chairs ideal for al fresco dining.

Beautiful property, peaceful and very warm house!
We booked Garden Cottage for a family weekend away. It’s a beautiful house and can imagine it’s lovely in summer when you can enjoy the outside space. We did take the walk to the lake to explore a little. It had everything we needed for three generations to enjoy. Marie was always responsive, replying quickly to messages, would definitely recommend

We had the most wonderful stay. From the moment we booked Marie was responsive and friendly, no question was too small and she always replied exceptionally quickly. The house was even more beautiful than the photos and we would come back in a heartbeat. There was enough space for three couple and two children to all have enough room without even feeling on top of one another. There were many highlights in the house- from the stunning walled garden to the glorious woodburners. There is also a lovely walk nearby down by a lake with a waterfall which is all private so felt very safe. The only thing to note is that it is exceptionally warm with the AGA but it was fine to just open the windows and let some fresh air in, and listen to the rain while tucked up next to the fire. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful family Christmas stay at the cottage. The cottage is beautiful and very homely. The kitchen was well equipped, we are complete Aga converts!! All bathrooms lovely and beds comfortable. The grounds are stunning and the walk to the lake was magical. Highly recommend for a peaceful family getaway.

The village of Chantry lies about 5km West of Frome, one of Somerset’s most fashionable market towns, and recently featured in the Sunday Times as the best place to live in Somerset. The town has a comprehensive choice of retail outlets and all the usual amenities. Founded in 2013, the “Frome Independent” is an award-winning independent street market that is held on the first Sunday of every month and attracts 80,000 people a year.
There are various footpaths, Asham Woods, and a bridleway to the nearby village of Mells. The Macmillan Way, a long-distance path, passes through Chantry and there are ample opportunities for walking and cycling along converted railway lines and alongside the Mells River.
Nearby attractions include Babington House, (Soho House’s country mansion), the Hauser and Wirth Art Gallery and Roth Bar in Bruton, the Talbot Inn (in Mells) and the George Inn (in Nunney), a village shop and a post office all 3 minutes away in Mells.
There is off-street parking for two / three cars at the entrance to the house.
