Located in Dumfries and Galloway, close to the Solway Firth, sits this snug two-bedroom lodge. Boasting loch and countryside views, the property is on a working farm and is a great base for couples or small family wanting outdoor activities and coastal walks. While the rural location is idyllic there are amenities nearby in Auchencairn (0.5 miles). A sense of easy comfort sweeps through the light-drenched interior with simple, creamy tones creating a soothing atmosphere. In the hallway kick-off boots then step through to the open-plan lounge. Soft furnishings, ambient lighting, and a plump sofa make it the perfect place to relax and there’s a wood burner to keep things cosy on colder nights. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors drench the room in natural light and offer up views of Bengairn Loch, and when the weather’s good you’ll want to push open the doors and watch the wildlife on the water. The neat kitchen overlooks the lounge so you can enjoy conversations with your partner while preparing meals. After dining at the table there’s space to unfold the maps and plan your next day’s agenda. Off from the living area are two delightful bedrooms featuring a king-size bed and zip-and-link super-king bed. The rooms have huge French doors so you can watch the sunrise and set over the loch while lounging on your super comfy bed. En-suite bathrooms and Smart TVs add extra comfort. Outside a large patio area is perfectly set up for al fresco dining. There’s also a hot tub so you can soothe aching limbs at the end of the day while admiring the glorious views. Alternatively, gather round the chiminea and enjoy a spot of stargazing. House Rules Additional information and rules 1 dog allowed per booking - Please note that the minimum stay is 3 nights, and that short breaks are only accepted 1st November to 15th March - 2 bedrooms – 1 super king-size (which can be made into a twin on request) and 1 king-size - 2 bathrooms - 1 en-suite shower and WC, 1 en-suite shower over the bath and WC - Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and Tassimo coffee machine - Smart TV and Bluetooth speaker in the lounge and Smart TVs in both bedrooms - Travel cot and highchair available (no bedding provided) - Enclosed patio with seating area, outside dining, gas BBQ and chiminea - Private hot tub – Bathrobes and towels provided - Ample off-road parking - Secure bike storage - The property is eco friendly with solar panels - Working farm activities– help feed the lambs in the spring.
