It was just idyllic, I loved the rustic charm of the restored barn. I also appreciated the history of the location. It felt like home! Chris was so responsive during our stay and his binder was full of information too.

We had a really nice stay at Chris’s barn in mid-October 2023. The interior was spacious and clean with lots of rustic charm. We had a pup with us who absolutely loved running at full speed in the huge backyard. We spent a lot of time out there playing frisbee. Our pup goes everywhere with us so anything we do needs to be dog-friendly… and despite being in a secluded area, we found plenty to do within an hours drive - trails, parks, outdoor eats/breweries, etc. Lots of scenic drives and farmland. Chris was communicative and friendly as a host. This is a great option if you’re looking in the area.

Chris was super responsive and flexible allowing us a later checkout because our flights didn’t leave until after 5pm. We had everything that we needed. The islands are fairly remote for somebody who may be used to a bigger city so buying groceries before coming is preferable. There are some small to medium sized grocery stores within 30min. The house worked very well for us as we were coming for a wedding and needed flexibility and accommodations for several people. Definitely would recommend to friends and family.

Chris’s place is rustic but super cozy, in a beautiful setting. There was plenty of room for our family, there were kayaks to use on the lake, there’s a farm stand right down the road for fresh produce and eggs - it was a great place for us. Burlington and good hiking in the Green Mountains are both about an hour away. If you are looking for someplace quiet in a beautiful setting, we highly recommend Chris’s place.
