Just 10 mins walk downhill to the beach and a short tuktuk ride to restaurants and attractions in Unawatuna, Thalpe, and Galle Fort. 3 large, fresh, bedrooms with an additional room with ensuite, perfect as a 4th bedroom, workspace, or TV/reading room. Great for families, couples or groups. Onsite staff to prepare breakfast, clean and take care of you. Unakanda Mango House is a serene villa with fabulous views and ample amenities. GROUND FLOOR: Step into a spacious open living and kitchen area, offering panoramic vistas of a Buddhist temple and Unawatuna Bay. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, microwave, stove, utensils and glass and dinnerware. Enjoy the convenience of an ensuite bedroom with a double bed. Adjacent is a flexible space, perfect as a TV room, children's play area, work place or additional bedroom. 2nd LEVEL: Ascend to find two expansive ensuite bedrooms with king beds, one featuring a luxurious bath. Outside, is a sprawling patio providing an idyllic setting for relaxation and dining. THE GARDEN: Enclosed for privacy, our garden boasts a pool and ample parking. Lounge in the sun or dine al fresco in various outdoor areas. The pool, nestled among trees, features a shallow edge for children. Encounter playful wildlife like monkeys and squirrels in this natural haven.

Mango House was just what we needed after some long flights- peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Great views and the kids loved the pool and playing with Max (the dog). Manoj and team were so helpful with recommendations and providing great contacts to help with onward travels- really going above and beyond. Breakfast on the terrace was a real treat.
Shar and Tim’s place is beautiful, the photos are just the beginning! The staff are so friendly, good breakfasts and the pool was a nice treat to come home to after the beach. Bring your walking sandals for up and down the hill / shortcut (handy!) to the beach!

Mango House is a beautiful colonial building set in the hillside. The villa manager and staff were absolutely exceptional and the property is in great hands. Sadly, we had to end our stay early due to electrical issues at the time. This seemed to be caused by having all bedroom aircons on at the same time and the property struggled with this demand. We had to move to alternative accommodation since it was unable to be repaired whilst we were there and was too dangerous for us to stay. The villa manager/host are now looking into this issue and were very understanding and helpful in finding us suitable accommodation elsewhere and went above and beyond to help us, including a full refund, etc. For that, we are very grateful. We would have loved to have stayed longer if we could since the staff, food, and accommodation itself were all incredible. One thing to note- The layout wasn't quite as I expected with the staircase being outside the front door and around the side of the house.

Unakanda offers peace and tranquility just minutes away from Unawatuna Beach, the restaurants and havens of Thalpe, and historic Galle Fort. It is on a ridge road at the top of Unawatuna Kanda ("kanda" = hill) amongst local village houses. Within less than 20 mins of travelling you will find many casual and fine dining options as well as interesting things to see and do. We provide guests with a list of local eateries, attractions and useful information.
The local beach is less than 10 minute walk down the hill and a further 5-10 mins to the main Unawatuna beachside restaurants.
Local tuk-tuk will be able to take you any of the local attractions most less and 15 mins. away.
Transit from Colombo International Airport to Unakanda takes between 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Airport pick -up and drop-off can be arranged with a locally based company.
