We had an amazing time at Rucis and Malis homestay as we were able to experience the real Fijian island life as part of the family. If you want they’d organise trips as Snorkeling with the sharks (which was stunning, even though I was scared before). But if you want to you could also just chill out at the beach and enjoy the delicious home cooked meals every day including lots of pineapple. Everyone in their big family really welcomes you and wants to make sure you have a good time on the island. Connecting with other people is also quite easy as there are more people staying with them. Vinaka for this amazing Fiji time

My visit was over 9 weeks and I can honestly say it was a wonderful experience and I felt comfortable and welcomed by Ruci & Mali. The island is stunning with friendly locals. Only reason for 4 stars is maybe the bathroom/shower area could be cleaned a little more often. Overall the food was outstanding! I had so many excellent varieties of fresh caught fish! I miss the homemade rolls, Roti bread, and pancakes for breakfast. Pineapple or papaya served almost daily! The local tours were also worthwhile; the hike up to the top of the island, the Shark feeding snorkel were both very fun! Long visit? Short visit? This homestay is a great opportunity to visit Fiji from a locals perspective.

Lovely island, lovely people, space was good, just be aware that the electricity goes off during the day as on most of the islands. Food was delicious!

Great location, Ruci was very accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately I became ill so I decided to leave the island a day early. Take some water purifying tablets if you’re gonna stay here

Great hosts took care of you made you feel like family and help with what you needed. Would recommend if you want a good Fijian island experience with the locals.
