This is a beautiful secluded treehouse near Los Gatos / Santa Cruz. The host was very responsive. It is very well decorated and cozy, and nice to have a beautiful place to stay in nature. The instructions to get in were clear. I gave four stars because I felt there was a lot lacking for the price, most of which was included in the description of the property. Most importantly, there was no door on the bathroom so absolutely no privacy when using the toilet. 2 day minimum stay, no flexibility with that, so you can’t go #2 in privacy for 2 days. No shower, just an outdoor bath. No kitchen or ability to make coffee or tea, and the host is strict about food, so hard to enjoy the cozy redwood grove without tea (in my opinion) or the ability to make a meal. And no wifi. If you don’t care about these things you will love this peaceful getaway.

We loved our stay at the treehouse! The rain made it incredibly cozy but definitely would recommend asking George about how to drive the wood chip road beforehand for the weather. The outdoor bath was perfect- plenty of hot water and so peaceful. Everything was as described in the listing and George was a very responsive host. He had a great list of recommendations for the area and Santa Cruz boardwalk was just a 30 min drive after we checked out. Would definitely recommend warm clothes during colder weather but the bed and heated mattress pad provided kept it so cozy- it was hard to get out of bed in the morning!! We can’t wait to stay again- the redwoods were amazing! We’re excited to come every season and enjoy all types of weather!

I absolutely loved this place! I read other reviews prior to going, so I was able to come prepared; Extra lanterns, external\rechargeable batteries with outlet plugs, extra heated blankets (bed does come pre-made with two), and extra layers/warm clothes (we were there during a cold March weekend). We brought the external batteries to use the heated blankets and our little portable DVD player. Since the weather was cold and rainy, we spent the nights snuggled comfortably under the warmth with a scary movie. Yes, the treehouse was freezing, but we were ready for it! There is a heater, but no, on that cold of a night it does not heat the space, but it does take the bite off. You’ve got to embrace that you’re in a legit treehouse. Off-grid style with running water and a bit of electricity. It’s not insulated. It will be cold/hot depending on the weather. However, it is the most magical little treehouse!! Beautiful ambiance with a lovely candlelit feel and extremely gracious host.
