It was a time for quiet for my Sister after her surgery - yet I had a BLAST! I really enjoyed the kayaks & my Sister - a Chef - loved the KITCHEN. Peaceful this time of year - the loons - the stars. It all amounts to great rest - superb and comfy bedding. The outdoor grill - got some GAS TIME / my Brother was in heaven - and the view of the lake at dinner! EPIC! Cathy saved me as I locked myself out - that deserved a hug - and was nice to meet her in person’ We ENJOYED- the quiet - the loons - kayaking- and the best star show ever! EPIC HOST = EPIC TIMES! Thank you Cathy - Richie 👌

We very much enjoyed our stay at Cathy’s place. The location is stunning right on Watchic Lake. Although we were there for the 4th, the lake was never that busy and our two kids had tons of fun swimming and kayaking. There are kayaks, oars and life jackets to use. Cathy was nice enough to buy another like jacket to fit our 6-year old. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed to cook and bbq. My wife even made a banana bread and raved about the stove and oven. There was plenty of room to sleep and the beds were comfortable enough for a rental. The only downside was the skylights in both bedrooms without a covering. Light poured in every morning at the crack of dawn. I’d recommend Cathy’s place for anyone looking for a relaxing lakeside retreat.

Beautiful location, everything as advertised. It might not be clear from the pictures, but you can easily wade into the water from the dock; the retaining walls in the photos made it look like you might have to jump in, but you don't. Nice shallow sandy-bottomed wading area for little kids before it gets deeper. Bunk room and 3rd bedroom on porch are more public than we expected, but re-reading the listing, Cathy was fair in her description and we just skimmed over it. You exit the bedroom through the bunk room, and the 3rd "bedroom" is the porch, with the bed 6 feet from the door to the backyard, so people in those rooms won't be able to sleep in if others are early risers! It was a typical warm August, and the A/Cs in the upper bedroom and the kitchen worked fine as long as you kept the doors open. Sitting at a firepit in the dark listening to the loons is my new favorite thing. Thanks Cathy.
