Great Place to Stay. House is way larger then expected and lots of room to relax. The yard was big nice and grassy for the little one to play in. Wish had more time to just relax at the home.
Candy was very easy to communicate with before we arrived and was very helpful with some last-minute changes of who was staying there as we had multiple family members attending a family wedding. The common areas of the house are very roomy and there's plenty of places to sit. There are lots of games and the TV was easy to use. Candy's house is really close to the grocery store/gas station/restaurant, which was really helpful.
Ver Nice and comfortable toys for the kids outside was shady and green grass nice for hot summer days the zip line was perfect kept the kids out of the house the river was in walking distance for swimming restaurant and store was only a block away evenings are peaceful beds were comfortable over all not one bad thing to say candy thank you for letting us use your home next time family comes to town will be calling you
Candy was a great host. Her guest home was just what we were looking for as it was almost situated right in the middle of the Painted Hills and Blue Basin. She anticipated our grocery and meal needs by sending suggestions prior to our arrival. The home was clean and had all of the kitchen essentials.
Spray is a pretty quiet little town and takes no time to walk the entire length. There is the Lone Elk Market which opens early and sells breakfast, lunch & early dinner as well as a few groceries and gas. Enjoy the Spray Pioneer Museum and the two city parks. The Spray Riverfront Park on the John Day River at the south end of town is quite popular and has the old swimming hole where all us "old timers" learned to swim. It also has a boat launch.
In small towns like Spray there is no taxi or bus. On the plus side, traffic is very light through the entire area and it only takes a 15-minute stroll to reach either end of town.
