Great place to stay. We were a bit hesitant to stay at a motel but we were extremely happy with the location, staff, the stay in general. Highly recommended and thank you to the staff.

Kind and genuine people
My recent stay at the Merrybell Motel exceeded all expectations. The room was cozy and comfortable, featuring two twin beds that ensured a restful night’s sleep for my companion and me. The private bathroom was a real convenience, and everything was spotlessly clean. What truly impressed us were the thoughtful amenities provided. From the fridge and microwave to the air-conditioning and heater, we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The flat-screen TV with DirecTV was a nice touch, and the high-speed fiber internet made it easy to work remotely or stream our favorite shows without any interruptions. Parking right in front of our room was convenient, and the personal touch of check-in service and cleaning by the hosts added a warm and welcoming atmosphere to our stay. All in all, our stay at the Merrybell Motel was fantastic, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, pet-friendly, and well-equipped place to stay.

We're Zulilah and Fraser and in 2015 we made the kind of crazy move to buy a little retro roadside motel in Midcoast Maine. Zulilah is a film maker from the Netherlands and Fraser is a photographer who grew up in England and moved to Southern Maine when he was 12. In 2018 our son Lorne was born, which made us a true motelier family. It is our love for the area that brought us to Northport, Maine. The magical trifecta of ocean, mountains and lakes is good for the soul and we love sharing our favourite places with our guests. When we bought the motel we took on the care of the buildings and the land it sits on. We're intimately getting to know the property and have been patching her up and modernising where needed. Creating a space that is friendly, clean and affordable. We also love growing our own food and try to be mindful of the plants, woods and creatures that surround us. We don't use roundup on our lawn, avoid any chemical insecticides and have a tiny bee friendly meadow behind the motel rooms.
