Our stay in the secret shepherds hut was wonderful! We got there from Glasgow entirely on bus. It was a lovely place to stay and allowed us to completely remove ourselves from busy city life. We explored the neighbouring towns of Castle Douglas and New Galloway both of which are perfectly accessible via busses. The hut was on the edge of Loch Ken, we did plenty of wild swimming which we both agreed was the highlight of the holiday. Raewyn was an incredible host and picked us up from the Galloway activity centre on our first day and took us to our cabin. The cabin was very well equipped and allowed us to enjoy some amazing meals by the fire. Highly recommend staying here, would definitely return again!

What a gorgeous spot - everything was just as we had hoped- peaceful solitude and an amazing show of the northern lights thrown in for good measure 😉 The shepherd’s hut was smart and well equipped. We had brought our own camping stove, which sped things up alongside the gas ring provided. We had initially planned to have a pub meal on our second night. However, because the spot was so beautiful, we changed plans and had a second loch side barbecue. When we contacted Raewyn with a question about the shower she got straight back to us. We had red kites soaring overhead, amazing bird song to wake up to and we swam several times in the loch. We definitely plan to return.

Absolutely loved the shepherd's hut, but had to cut my visit short. The ace is so peaceful and tranquil. The bed was so comfy. Everything there thet you needed. Will definitely be back

Had a lovely stay this weekend. Very private and very calm. Both hosts were very accommodating, we had a lovely time. Would definitely recommend!

Stunning location and views, very peaceful and great to get away to. The hut was very cosy, clean and well placed for getting about to different places by car. If you are looking to disconnect this is definitely the place to go.
