We really enjoyed this spot as our central location for exploring the Frio River area and the local state parks. It is so close to Garner State Park which allowed us to go dancing for 2 nights during our stay. Our children loved it! The sunsets are amazing and the spacious yard was a great place to spend our evenings. The house had everything we needed. Getting down to the Frio River took some planning, but we loved our float.

The views of the hills and valley are fantastic. Great spread in a very well stocked rental. So serene quiet & peaceful w the closest access to Happy Hollow you can find (only place w water at time of stay) shout out to Melissa Rachel greeted us as soon as we got there and we felt very much at home.

This is one of the best places my wife and I have stayed at. We come to the Frio with family the same week, of every year, and will stay here every time from now on. So if you’re reading this, sorry to tell ya, the second week of June will be booked until we get the spot we want right next to the whole family at the RV park. And for us the location was perfect, as it’s right in the middle of where we spend most of our time between two river locations. And I loved the early morning jogs as the sun came up. Rachel has been a joy to be hosted by, and more than communicative than anyone we’ve hosted. And we thank you for sharing your family house and land. Until next year.

Great Place to stay!

Such a great place, in a great location, with great hosts! Really a complete package, and we hope to be back. We visited with a few adults and a few young kids during Spring Break. We wanted to “get away” from the city, bike, and explore Garner State Park. This couldn’t have been better for all that. The location is so incredibly peaceful, even meditative. Every morning the kids and I would do sun salutations on the porch, facing the sun as it rose over the hills. And then after cooking a hot breakfast in the very well-equipped kitchen, we only had a couple minute drive to Garner State Park for all sorts of river, hiking, and dancing fun! Zea and Rachel were super communicative and ended up going an extra mile. They communicated everything we needed for check-in in a timely and simple way, offered suggestions for the local area (we’re glad we brought/got groceries on the way in!), and when we accidentally left something of value at the property, they offered to mail it to us (thank you, again!!). Hope we get to visit again soon, and that this place doesn’t get SO popular we can’t. ;) JFYI for those that are curious for more kitchen details (we always are): they had a nice spread of instant coffee and teas, but also had a spice grinder - wish we had known, as we would have brought our own beans! There was also a blender, juice press, and toaster; in addition to lots of nice pans and utensils.
