Very comfortable Stay at east Balnacraig. House was warm And very clean. Lots to do in surrounding area. Great communication from hosts.

East Balnacraig house has beautiful surroundings and an amazing view over the fields and river below! The house is clean, spacious and lovely decorated. It is a country house style in the best of ways. The beds are very comfortable with a cozy touch and the living room-kitchen combination is where we loved to spend most of our time, eating or just socialising. The accommodation has everything a family of six can wish for. A couple of things worth to mention. The road up to the house is not the best so drive carefully. The GPS may also suggest a shorter road but not suitable for cars, as written in the instructions. There is no washing machine, so plan ahead for that. We suggest it for any family feeling like getting away from the buzz for a few days!

Beautiful house in an excellent area of Scotland. It was very clean, the garden was great for the dog to have a stretch of her legs before a day of hiking. The wildflowers were lovely! The beds were super comfy and the Potarch cafe makes nice coffee. The only things worth pointing out are that the road to the property is very bumpy and stony so not great if you have a small car (the host does warn of this so we took a decent sized car) and it’s on a working farm which we loved but you won’t really be able to hike from the property. Again, we had a decent car so this didn’t bother us but just worth noting.

Very good accommodation with comfortable lounge area and bedrooms with high quality fittings and bed linen. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need by way of crockery and cookware. We were two couples but the third bedroom is also spacious so fine for three couples or a larger family although the upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom. We had some difficulty finding the cottage and initially used a very rough track to access it, but there is another route which starts on a tarred road and has a much shorter stretch of fairly good track. In terms of negatives, the water pressure in the upstairs shower is disappointing (the overhead shower head is unusable) and the wild flower garden is wholly overgrown and needs attention.

Was wir nicht schön fanden war die in der unmittelbaren Nachbarschaft befindlicher landwirtschaftliche Anlage, sehr unordentlich, die Kühe standen bis zu den Knien in ihren Mist, die Fütterung da sehr bedenklich aus. Es ist kein schöner Anblick wenn man zu Ihrem Anwesen fährt. Auf ihrem Gelände selbst fanden wir es sehr schön auch der Blick ins Tal war atemberaubend. Grüße Familie Köhler
