We had a wonderful weekend at the shepherds crook. It was so cosy and cute inside and out. Absolutely fantastic location for walking. We found a folder with helpful tips and walks in the hut. We managed to find our way to the hanging rock, Luds church and the Roaches. We stopped at the brewery in Wincle for a well deserved pint afterwards! Ian and Angela’s hut had everything for a comfortable stay. Would love to return in the summer. The Easter egg waiting for us was a lovely treat!

Shepherds Crook Hut was a peaceful and private paradise that was a complete escape! Picture perfect surroundings and a walkable pub + brewery, couldn't recommend a weekend unwinding here any more!

Absolutely beautiful location with views of snow-covered hills on the higher peaks. Obviously a centre for great walks nearby. Great, friendly pub nearby. The hut was lovely and very warm despite the cold weather.

An idyllic spot for a few nights of relaxation; the hut was well appointed with so many thoughtful touches - particularly the delicious homemade cake, butter and fresh eggs. Very comfortable bed and great sleep assured, my 6'3" tall husband loved having the bed orientated into the centre of the, hut allowing much more leg room. We were warm and cosy, even though the weather wasn't great. Very grateful for Ian's initiative and support with our car trouble: contacting a mobile mechanic to get us back on the road. The Ship Inn closeby is also a fantastic pub with great food and service. All in all, a brilliant stay - we loved it. Thanks Ian.

A very unique retreat, with all the basics you need. The local pub (The Ship Inn) is 5 minutes away and serves great food and is very welcoming. Personally I’ve never stayed anywhere with so many foot paths so close by. All of which we tried lead to spectacular views and rivers. The view from the hut is stunning and the location is very peaceful. The hosts are very nice and easy to communicate with. We look forward to returning in the future.
