Beautiful view of lake Wautaga! Perfect set up for docking our pontoon. House is very comfortable. Driveway is steep and the private road leading to the driveway is unimproved. Due to the steep property children will need very close supervision outside.

I will start off with the pros and then end with the cons. The Pros: I liked that this place was secluded, we enjoyed the no cell service, but liked having Wi-Fi!! WE LOVED THE HOT TUB (one of the main reasons we booked) The multiple bathrooms was a huge plus!! We loved the dock as we did not end up renting a boat, so it was nice to be able to hangout on it. The cons: I guess I didn’t put into consideration that this was a pet friendly home and that may mean dog hair even if we didn’t bring our own pet (dog hair on beds kitchen table etc.) The stairs sheesh that’s a journey and very good exercise !! ( would not recommend for older people or small children & we had both) The kitchen is small we only had 6 adults staying more than two in the kitchen and you were cramped Over all we had a great trip and we were reminded why we love gathering hosts were very helpful!!

The place was great. Very clean and adequately supplied. Centrally located on the lake in a great inlet. Nice deck with a great view. We rented a pontoon boat and kept it overnight with no issues. We have been to Lake Watauga a half dozen times and we will definitely stay here again.

The views from this mountain house can’t be beat. We loved the private cove and made good use of the paddle boat. It was easy to use our inflatable kayak from the dock. We rented a pontoon boat at Watauga Lakeshore and brought it back to the house for a quick lunch before going back out. We swam all day into the evening. I definitely recommend stopping for groceries in Boone on the way. We ordered online pickup so all we had to do was load them into the car after a long drive. The neighborhood is quiet and in the forest. We saw hummingbirds and deer in the early morning. So beautiful. We also hiked at Laurel Falls in Hampton nearby.

We enjoyed our time here immensely as we frequently visit Watauga Lake, and this is now one of my favorite rentals. Beautiful lake views from the upper deck and we had the cove all to ourselves. There are few spots on the lake that provide this much privacy. The house is super spacious, and the kids loved the bunk room. Aimee and Sarah are phenomenal hosts and super helpful!
