We had such a wonderful visit with Ron and in Portal! We felt right at home with him and his sweet kitty! The outdoor space is inviting with lots of birds at the feeders and spectacular views! So nice to relax outside in this space. You would not even notice that he is completely off the grid! Ron has been part of the community for decades and is a wealth of local knowledge. I will definitely be back to visit!

"A place of bliss" indeed! What a lovely cabin with beautiful mountain views! Ron was a delight and we loved chatting with him and getting to know him and his sweet cat. He was very responsive and helpful as we tried to plan our visit. Instructions to getting to his place were very clear (it's a gravel road, but we have a Jeep so that was a non-issue) and the cabin looks just like the photos (but the cat is even more adorable in person). We unfortunately could not stay long but want to come back again soon.

One of the best Air B&B stays we've ever had. Ron is a great host, very knowledgeable about Arizona, and well traveled in many areas of the world. We very much enjoyed talking with him about his travels. We felt very comfortable in his beautiful home. The patio was a nice place to relax and watch the birds visit the feeders, and a great place to star gaze in the evening. We very much enjoyed our stay.

What a peaceful and beautiful place. Ron greeted us on the doorstep before we were even out of the car. He made his home feel like it was our home. We enjoyed chatting with him too. Great value in a beautiful location.

Beautiful setting, lots of privacy in the setting, and surrounded by nature and quiet. Ron was very friendly and helpful for any information we needed to set up our day. A very gracious host with lots of eclectic travels and collections. We felt very welcome and would absolutely stay with Ron again. The bathroom and bedroom were very clean and comfortable.
