HIRU HOUSE is a very spacious stylish open plan property with polished concrete and natural stone and wood Although we knew about the lack of air conditioning we nevertheless booked it for our three week stay …. We would NEVER again book a house without air con ! Relying on ceiling fans is not sufficient and one of the bedrooms doesn’t even have a ceiling fan It’s impossible to leave the doors and windows open due to the local monkey population …. We didn’t ask Asha to cook for us as we didn’t want to eat inside with no air con and there is no facility to eat outside Jude is a charismatic manager but we didn’t see much of him… his wife Asha and her mother cleaned the house and changed the bed linen and towels every three days and the pool was cleaned regularly. We were able to have a late checkout which we appreciated HIRITEKIYA and Dickwella beaches are amazing and there are plenty of restaurants in HIRITEKIYA to choose from …. Garlic Cafe , La Playa and Mulu Poke

The space is in a lovely location and is beautifully cleaned and decorated. However desperately needs air conditioning in the bedrooms as it is a rather hot house that has less than average air flow. It was also really hard to settle in as multiple security, maintainance and other personnel would walk through the premises throughout the day with no warning. We were three friends whose privacy needs are lower and even we felt Uncomfortable.

Fantastic stay all round. The villa accommodated our family of four generations and was perfectly located in the Hirikitya area. Everything was perfect, cleanliness, location , privacy; it felt home away from home. Jude was absolutely amazing and accommodating , we can’t speak highly enough of him for making sure our stay was top notch . We’d love to come back so thanks again !

Top Unterkunft. Wir waren zu Fuenft da, das war perfekt. Es gibt zwar Betten fuer 14 Personen - dann schlafen aber 8 Personen in einem Zimmer mit Stockbetten…das ist dann eher was fuer Kids. Die Einrichtung und Lage ist top. Der Pool kleiner als auf den Bildern, aber dafuer immer erfrischend kuehl. Jude ist der Hammer - macht unbedingt den Kochkurs mit ihm und seiner netten Frau! Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung - obwohl der Preis fuer Sri Lanka doch ein wenig zu hoch erscheint.

We had an amazing stay over New Year. Jude was the superstar of the show - an incredible host - always ready to help no matter how big or small the request and Asha (Judes wife) was wonderful too. They made us an incredible Sri Lankan feast on New Years Eve which is a must for anyone who is thinking of staying. The location of the house is perfect - easily walkable to several beaches and lots of resturants. Would 100% recommend staying at Hiru House!
