The location is rather isolated at the end of a partially paved road -- bumpy but we had no problem with an AWD SUV. Surroundings are not scenic, but the interior was clean. The kitchen had almost all that we needed for cooking. The recommendations for local amenities were helpful; do not miss the bakery!

Remote and private. Very cute place and extremely nice hosts. Great artwork throughout the apartment too.

My Mom and I immensely enjoyed ourselves, and in my Mom's words, "it's like we discovered a secret paradise!" You definitely do not get this kind of neighborhood and village experience staying closer to Kona or Hilo, and the scenery was beautiful! Naalehu has become my favorite place on the big island, and we loved our hosts at the Kamilo Turtle Inn! Thank you so much for this experience! We will be back :)
