Ideal place to stay as was just round the corner from a family Christmas. Very thoughtful putting in Christmas tree and decorations.
We werden zeer hartelijk ontvangen door Claire en haar familie. Het huisje had alles wat we nodig en had een mooie geschiedenis. We hebben een hele leuke tijd gehad!
a lovely rustic little cottage. Claire and her partner are lovely and welcoming. The house is quirky and nice, but has some issues: the (pristine & comfortable) bathroom is at the ground floor, adjacent to the kitchen with a double bedroon on 1st floor, and a single one in the attic. To go down to the toilet the person in the attic has to walk through the double bedroom, and considering the squeeky floors, nobody gets much sleep. I'd definitly not recommend it for anybody planning to get congenial while somebody else is in the attic. There's a delightful little back garden which can be lovely for sunny days. There is a very good indian restaurant minutes away, a lovely cafe for breakfast/lunch, and an expensive Morrison's. Bring food with you. Unlike most airbnbs you wont find milk or biscuits in the kitchen. 20 min walk up the road there is a good expensive gastropub. There is also a beautiful forest for walks. all in all: great for a writing retreat for one person or a couple.
There is a lovely walk across the fields to a remote country pub The Woolpack, which sits opposite the church. There are National Trust ancient woods in the village for walks and we are only 20 minutes from Camber Sands.
The Cinque Port town of Rye is 10 minutes on the train or 20 minute drive and the market town of Tenterden is a 10 minute drive, where you can visit the famous Chapel down Vineyard, we are also close to Gusbourne Vineyard.
We are a 20 minute drive to Dungeness great for beach walks and Fish and chips, Dover Castle is not far way and the old town of Winchelsea is a great spot.
Hamstreet train station is a 5 minute walk from the cottage.
We are close to all the local Vineyards including Gusbourne and Chapel Down. We are very close to Dungeness, Tenterden, Dover and Winchelsea.
