The cottage is in a lovely setting overlooking the River Cocker and surrounded by trees, bushes and extensive lawned areas. The local wildlife ( including several red squirrels and numerous birds - we counted at least 22 species during our stay ) visits regularly to the well stocked feeding station directly outdside the french windows and provided far better entertainment than the TV! The accommodation is well appointed and Adam and Mary are excellent hosts. A delightful and very relaxing holiday.

We have loved our stay at The Spinney, Woodlands at Rogerscale. Adam & Mary are wonderful hosts. The location is magical. Private, quiet, surrounded by nature & beautiful. The attention to detail is of a high standard, & the compendium of information is second to none. We loved the fires we had in the combustion heater - there was plenty of available wood. We also loved watching the birds from the tree outside the French doors, attracted there by a bird feeder in the tree. We saw various other wildlife, like grouses & we were able to spot & picture Tufty, the red squirrel. Would we stay again, given the chance? Absolutely! A beautiful property in a stunning location. It has everything you need and more. The wildlife and birds outside the door to the property are a wonderful addition. Especially loved seeing the red squirrel. Adam and Mary were very helpful both before and during our stay and super responsive. Would highly recommend a stay here.

The Spinney is in a special location, lovely and peaceful set in beautiful gardens with fantastic views of the river Cocker and the Cumbrian fells behind. The Spinney was very comfortable, warm and cosy. The host was very friendly and very accommodating in dealing with our electric car.
