Don your walking boots and head up to Loughrigg or Wansfell Pike, the views from the top are well worth the climb, or tackle the Fairfield Horseshoe. Grasmere is easily accessible on foot or by bike, and Keswick and the dramatic Langdale Valley are a short drive away. Check out the independent and outdoor shops on offer, or treat yourselves to dinner and a movie at Zeffirellis with its multiscreen cinema. There are a great many excellent restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. Just a few minutes' walk away at Waterhead is a wonderful lakeside beach, perfect for picnics.
