Loved this stay, it was perfect 🥰. The house was so toasty warm, it had everything we could possibly need and felt the owners went above and beyond expectations to make things perfect. We cooked a roast dinner with the local butchers chicken and had left overs for days. The tv (even though its small) was easily movable to the bedroom and with our own firestick could catch up in the evenings with our regular shows. The local town was 15 minutes walk away so was completely away from the local chaos of the tourists. There were plenty of walks from the door including the Monsal trail. The bus service wasn't bad at all. We went and visited Matlock Bath and Buxton. There is plenty of other destinations. We used our car for short 20 minute drives to Padley Gorge, Baslow Edge (for sun rise), Dovedale, Thors Cave. All in all a perfect stay and we definitely recommend the Ploughman's at the Peacock.

we had a lovely holiday the old cart shed was a perfect place to explore the peaks. With beautiful views from the windows and lots of nature to spot from gold finch to heron to house Martin.

A lovely cottage surrounded by fields and yet only a 10 minute walk into Bakewell. The cottage was very clean and well equipped as described, with excellent wi-fi. Our hosts had provided useful local information and were responsive and accommodating.

We have stayed at The Old Cart Shed many times over many years and look forward to returning again later this year. A gem of a place to stay in splendid isolation and yet still close to all amenities. The perfect location to explore all that the Peak District has to offer. We just love it there. Missing Bakewell already.

This cottage is the perfect little oasis. The surrounding countryside is so beautiful. Surrounding the house are numerous public footpaths that take you out into the rolling hills and it is less than a 15 min walk to the city center. The home itself was secluded and homie. The kitchen was great and very functional, my husband and I stayed here a little less than a week and made many meals. Also Anthony was such a lovely host and very responsive. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
