We had a wonderful time staying at Antonia’s family home. It was so cozy and well-provisioned. Host was very responsive and friendly prior to and throughout our stay. Would stay again + recommend to a friend!
Beautiful woodsy retreat
We loved our stay! The surrounding nature was peaceful and the house was full of fun things like a pool table and piano. Antonia had lots of good suggestions for restaurants and activities nearby. Definitely recommend this place for a peaceful getaway in the redwoods.
This stay was absolutely wonderful. This sanctuary in the forest was a salve for our family of three! Antonia and Erica were super communicative and provided us with so many options for food, hiking trails, tidal pools, and exploration of the land and neighboring communities. The house is breathtaking and contains so much warmth - and SO many wonderful books across a spectrum of history and topics - with beautiful artistry in both art and architecture, and a wonderful kitchen that is fully stocked to make lovely meals. The home is nestled on a hill amidst towering trees and felt private, safe, and serene. This land and home contain a lot of magic - watch the ravens! We would love to come back, and it was a perfect spot for my family to celebrate our child turning 2 years old. The heater was great to keep the space warm, but the 2 woodburning stoves are also fully stocked for a cozy evening. The four bedrooms are plenty of space for a family or a few! Thank you for a perfect stay!
It rained the whole time but still had a magical time surrounded by art, books, board games, and beautiful surrounding forest.

I'm based in Oakland with my husband, Beej, and sweet Siberian Husky mix, Breezy. I'm originally from Berkeley and Mendocino County and Beej is from New England. We're both small business owners who love to hike and swim in beautiful places on our days off. When Beej and I travel, we prefer to stay at rental homes instead of hotels so our goal is to provide the type of experience we would enjoy ourselves. My sister, Erica, and I are hosting our family home — Coastal Ridge Retreat. Check it out if you're looking for a spacious rental with true local flavor on the enchanting Mendocino County coast. We stay at the home often ourselves and love it beyond words. Erica and her husband, Jose, are both university professors. They live in the Sacramento area with their lovely daughter, Emi, and two dogs, Taco and Moo.
