TVNC#1146 - A Gated entrance leads you through a 6 foot lava rock wall toward the rear, ground level, traditional Hawaiian style house. Privately tucked away behind the housekeepers front house, the backyard lanai looks out onto conservation lands with mountain and waterfall views . Cedar wood lined interior walls and local artwork adorn the 1600 square foot house. Walk 1/3 mile to Tunnels Beach in 5 minutes Note: property located in tsunami evacutation zone The master bedroom is in the back corner of the house and has a queen bed with a bathtub just outside the glass sliding door on the lanai. The master bathroom has a shower and is just outside in the hall. The guest bedroom has a full bed and has a bathroom with a tub also in the hall just outside from the door. Both bedrooms have air conditioning units.There is also a king bed on one side of the living room with curtains for privacy and there is a desk there. Floor to ceiling windows throughout allow for ample natural light and tropical tradewinds to fill the home. High ceilings feature exposed beam with cieling fans throughtout the house.

A slice of Haena heaven! We took so many pictures from the back lanai because it was so breathtakingly beautiful at all hours and in whatever weather. Quick walk or bike ride to one of the most exquisite beaches in the world for snorkeling and watching the sunset after dinner. House is comfortable, well appointed and immersed in the sights and sounds of nature, including donkeys and horses who came to visit. Hosts were responsive and flexible. Lots of extras for beach adventures are supplied: towels, chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, cooler, beach cart, etc. Outdoor tub and shower were so lovely. Could have stayed forever!
A lovely stay. The view from the lanai is stunning, and the location is 5-star for an easy walk to Tunnels Beach.
This spot was the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. It is a gem. A true oasis. The house is walking distance to some of the most beautiful beaches. The outdoor bath and shower were spectacular. I wholeheartedly recommend this spot!
i cannot put into words how magical this place is! it feels like a private oasis in paradise. it is calming, luxurious, fun, unique, everything you could want while staying in Kauai. the incredible Tunnels beach being just a 7 minute walk away is so convenient. the cute town of Hanalea is a quick (and pretty) 13min drive away but you’ll find yourself not wanting to leave this place. the best airbnb i have ever stayed at, one of the very best vacations i have ever had. the pictures and description don’t do it justice. we are so lucky to have found this place and did not want to leave!!

The house is on the mauka (mountain) side with an unobstructed view of the mountains, pasture and seasonal waterfall. This is one of the most relaxing scenery on the island. The world famous Tunnels Beach is not more than 1/4 of a mile walk. It is a breath taking water and mountain beach.
The area is lush with foliage and every shade of green is found in the flowers and fauna.
With your car or our bikes you can easily drive to Haena Beach Park, Tunnel beach, or the end of the Kuhio Hwy road to the guard gate.
But, if you want to go to Haena State Park, the website to book a shuttle ride is https://gohaena dot com. It is a must for you to check it out.
Normally , everyone needs to drive back toward Hanalei ( it is too far to ride a bike there) at Waipa Park and Ride at 5-5631Kuhio Hwy. Park in the shuttle parking lot to catch the shuttle from the start, unless you email them proof of your reservation at our home 2 days prior. Then you could ride the bikes to the shuttlestop at Hanalei Colony Resort (to the east about 1 mile from house) or Haena Beach Park parking lot (to the west about 1 mile from house)
Also, unfortunatly, security is tight at the gate entrance to Haena state park. from sunrise to sunset. Unless you are are a resident, you can't get in during the day unless you are lucky enough to get a walk in pass on the https://gohaena website
