Our family is delighted to share the newest of our Methodist Encampment vacation homes with you! Recently Updated and Furnished, 2 Bedroom, Sleeps 4, Amazing Sun Room & Kitchen! Guests will enjoy this bright and spacious home, the comfort and luxury of freshly updated spaces and furnishings blended with charming antique decor and fine art including works of Joe G Russell (an original Cowboy Artist) and Hernando Villa (works from the early-mid 1900's). The spaces include: A beautifully updated kitchen with granite counter tops, full-size stainless steel appliances, a dish washer and most everything you might need to cook and serve a meal besides the food. We leave some coffee, waters and a few other snacks for our guests, so please help yourself to anything you find in the home during your stay. The full bathroom, also freshly updated, is tiled with a roomy walk-in shower. There is also a small half-bath, and there will be fresh towels for guest use, a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. Both bedrooms are bright and spacious. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has a full-size bed. Both bedrooms have closet space and hangers. A fifth smaller person could possibly sleep on the couch in the sun room, though this room is not climate controlled. The living room is open to the dining area and kitchen and also sits along side the sun room. The living room is bright and comfortable with seating consisting of two love seats and an extra chair. We have good wifi through Spectrum, as well as Spectrum TV, and the television is a Roku smart TV that guests can use to watch free streaming channels or you may be able to add your own subscription viewing services (such as Netflix) or plug in your own devices/players using an HDMI Cable. The dining area has a large and solid table that can be expanded. You'll be able to set a lovely table with our selection of place mats, cloth napkins, dishes and glasses. The sun room is an indoor/outdoor space that serves well in bathing the entire home in sunlight. This is the perfect place to visit or relax and enjoy your morning coffee, read a book, have a drink or play a game. The sun room has a library, lots of seating, and a couch that could possibly sleep a fifth guest who is not tall. The sun room is not air conditioned, though you could open the windows and between the main home and the sun room to help control the temperature somewhat. We have a tower fan available to help with air circulation, as well. There is also a closet in the kitchen and dining space where you'll find cleaning supplies, an iron and small "counter-top" ironing board, games, childrens' books and art supplies for your use. The home also has excellent outdoor spaces. Deer will visit the yard daily! The side and front of the home have been landscaped with mostly native plants, cooking and medicinal herbs. The treed back yard has a table and chairs, and there is an antique outdoor "fireplace" that guests are welcome to use (fire wood is available at nearby stores). The back yard has a rough Cedar fence, and feels very natural with limestones to walk on, a gentle hillside canopy of trees, and common wildlife sightings. There is a garage is available for you to use by requesting it in advance of your stay. It large enough to park one vehicle inside as well as sufficient parking in the washed-aggregate driveway for two vehicles. Attached to the garage is a small room in which we have added a washer and dryer that guests are welcome to use. Venturing out into the neighborhood, you'll find popular walking streets that are windy and shaded by canopies of trees arcing over them. The Methodist Encampment Neighborhood is home to a diverse mix of people including many artists, writers, musicians, a Tai Chi and Reiki studio and photographers. Guests often enjoy walking in the neighborhood and seeing the many unique, eclectic and artsy antique homes with rustic rockwork terracing on the hillsides. We recommend a walk up to the Bolivian cross for a phenomenal sunset view.
