Easy to find and near the walking area for my pup. Beautiful views and clean and peaceful house. Near good local restaurant. Would stay here again. Very quick response time from host.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whispering Oaks. The location on the sound with our own little beach was perfect for the kids to play and swim without the worry of ocean waves. The house was very comfortable, and obviously well cared for by the owners. The kitchen was one of the best equipped that we have encountered in terms of utensils (could use some wooden spoons, and we could not locate a cork screw) and cookware. You do need to bring all detergents for dishes, laundry and other cleaning supplies (as well as soap and shampoo, etc). Something to be aware of if traveling with people of different bedtimes, is that there is no door on the upstairs bedroom, so those who stay downstairs have to be quiet once folks upstairs have gone to bed. Also, there are no window shades upstairs. Proximity to the ferry to Cape Lookout was a huge plus for us - we enjoyed several days out there. We would return to Mary’s house without question. Great house, peaceful area, wonderful little beach, friendly people at nearby stores and restaurants. Just a wonderful little paradise on the coast!
