Lovely spot and Julie was really generous with her time and recommendations.
We had a lovely stay here, we were looking for a place to switch off and relax and that's what we did. With very little phone network and no internet it was perfect. Great walks with the dogs and a beautiful area to stay
Excellent City Break
We visited the Glasshouse for a weekend with our baby daughter and our dog. The space was lovely and had everything we needed for our time there. Julia's instructions were a great help when first finding the house, as it is very rural and we arrived in the dark. Julia's communication as a host is superb and she was always friendly and happy to help. We appreciated the provision of a travel cot and a later check out so we could have a relaxing mother's day morning. Our dog enjoyed the treats and balls left for him! Unfortunately the weather wasn't great for our stay so we didn't get to partake in any walks from the accommodation but Julia had provided plenty of wood so we stayed cosy inside with the fire. We loved our stay and would happily return any time.
There is much to love about this listing. Julia was incredibly friendly, and the location was remarkable. However, for us, the stay was not what we were expecting, and unfortunately it was a little disappointing. The place is lovely, but though the description suggests a 'wing' of the farm, the images all suggest a private and separate space. It is in fact just through the wall from the owners living space, and there is much activity directly outside the window. For most this would not be a problem, but we have a very anxious and noise sensitive collie, and she was on high alert from moment one. To reiterate: for most I suspect this would not be any kind of problem, it just wasn't totally clear from the images that it was all so close. The other issue for us, which was more of a problem, was the toilet. This is very much IN the bedroom, indeed it is physically attached to the rear of the bedhead, with no door. Personally, especially during the night, we found this very uncomfortable
