Alaska Native Eskimo Inupiat / German / French / and British, raised on a farm in Fairbanks, Alaska, also lived on a dairy farm for a few months in MN. I also worked on the Alaska pipeline, which is 800 miles long, from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. I enjoy hosting, fishing in Alaska, swimming, rollerblading, exploring, hiking, boogie boarding, board games, cards, family, friends, photography, dance and traveling! The home is located in desert conditions, with the morning temps as low as 64-67 degrees and the day temps from 75-84 degrees. Beautiful ocean, mountain and South Point views. A welcome breeze to keep the temperature just right for you! I enjoy renting my home in Ocean View, Hawaii, for you to experience Old Hawaii. A unique setting which I call my National Park Home because it is in a incredible location. Manuka State Park on one side of Ocean View, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Kahuku Unit on the other side, and miles of virgin coastline below. Spring 2016, I was able to see nine pods of whales off my lanai in which I hope you will be able to view out of your own comfortable and clean ranch home. I also have experienced wild spinner dolphins swimming next to me or by me at Ho'okena Beach. An experience of a lifetime and enjoyed a few times. Whale watching while boogie boarding is another favorite! There is nothing more thrilling than watching the whales breach at South Point, Kua Bay, Punalu'u (Black Sands) Beach, Ho'okena Beach, or out my front window (we are three miles up from the ocean, 900' above sea level). Ocean View has a Farmer's & Flea Market on Saturdays, and Na'alehu has a Farmer's Market every Wednesday morning and Saturday. I had one guest who was very happy to find a 1940's pocket watch at the Ocean View Saturday Market. What treasure will you find? The meteorite showers and stargazing are just incredible at night! I suggest you make a list of all the wishes to wish on, there can be that many falling or shooting stars. Just an incredible location, with possibly seeing a mouflon sheep, axis deer, or a wild goat stroll by or Hawaiian Hawk or owl fly through the yard. Another favorite is hiking the Kahuku Unit of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park at mile 70.5 of the Mamalahoa Highway. Tours are given on the weekend, please check with the Park Schedule to determine dates and times. Also, enjoyed are the 4WD trails to Kaalualu Bay and Green Sands Beach via Green Sands Subdivision (approx. mile 64 on Mamalahoa Hwy.). This trail will also take you to a beach where alot of trash or treasures are settled on the shoreline. I knew one gentleman who found two 50 gallon barrels of candle wax and made citrus candles from his treasures found. What treasures will you find? Sea shells, sea glass bulbs, or ??? One of my favorite drives without 4wd is going the upper road from Na'alehu to Pahala. In Na'alehu, turn left as if you are going to the Punalu'u Bakery, and keep going straight. Past the cemetary on your left, and the road will veer to the right. Keep to the right, and enjoy the many miles of scenic views, ranch land, coffee farms, until you come to the end, veer right, and stay to the right, and arrive into the mountain side of Pahala. Beauty awaits you in this paved drive through the upper country. Enjoy the adventures while staying in your private home.
